This study aims to optimize the decision-making process in selecting the best coffee shop in Pematang Siantar by applying the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method. In the era of increasingly competitive coffee shop businesses, consumers need a clear and measurable guide to determine the most suitable choice according to their preferences. This research offers a solution by utilizing the WASPAS method, which is known to be effective in solving multi-criteria decision-making problems. The evaluation process is conducted based on five main criteria considered relevant by consumers: facilities, comfort, service, price, and location. Data were collected through surveys involving active participation from local consumers in Pematang Siantar. The collected data were then quantitatively analyzed using the WASPAS method to determine consumer preferences based on the relative weights of each criterion. The results show that Inhaven Specialty Coffeebar was identified as the best coffee shop with the highest WASPAS score of 3.2. These findings confirm that the WASPAS method can be relied upon as an effective and efficient decision-making tool in the context of coffee shop selection. This study is expected to provide dual benefits both for consumers as a reference in choosing a coffee shop that meets their needs, and for coffee shop owners in efforts to improve service quality, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, this research can also serve as a reference for future studies with broader and more complex scopes.
